Bio
Robin Thompson Arthur, PsyD, has served on the Lindner Center of HOPE's (LCOH) founding team since early 2006.
She has been integral in designing its world-class patient and
family-centered evidence-based psychotherapy programs for both inpatient
and outpatient services. As Chief of Psychology for LCOH, Dr. Arthur oversees
clinical treatment professionals administering Cognitive and Dialectical
Behavior Therapy, as well as other treatment modalities.
Prior to joining Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Arthur was a consultant to
four community mental health adolescent residential facilities in
Cincinnati. She served in the Quality Clinical Services Department, and
developed and implemented a unique psychological assessment program
while serving as Clinical Supervisor for the Talbert House North Star
adolescent residential mental health facility. Dr. Arthur co-founded
TweenPlace Alliance, an educational non-profit organization offering
leadership education programs to adolescent youth in a multi-ethnic,
multi-cultural setting. Her background before moving into the field of
psychology includes supporting a variety of medical disciplines,
including general and vascular surgery, neurology, and as a triage nurse
for Queen City Physicians Pediatrics.
Dr. Arthur lectures on many topics locally and regionally including
Women’s Mental Health Issues, Women in the Workplace, Tweens and Self
Esteem, Parenting Techniques, Integration of Psychology with Eastern
techniques, Personality Disorders, Depression in the workplace, Creating
a psychologically healthy workplace, and Mindfulness and Meditation
Practices. Dr. Arthur’s research includes investigating primary care
physicians' abilities to address psychosocial issues with their
patients, depression in women, women in the welfare system, eating
disorders and growth hormone, and values-based leadership training for
adolescents. Dr. Arthur’s professional work has appeared in the Journal
of the American College of Nutrition and the Journal of Child &
Adolescent Pharmacology, among others. She has participated in training
Cincinnati Police recruits in mental health issues and how to
effectively deal with individuals with mental health issues.
Dr. Arthur was awarded Xavier University's Bieliauskas Thesis of the
Year Award. She has served as a board member of the Cincinnati Academy
of Professional Psychology, the Ohio Psychological Association Advocacy
Committee, and the National Alliance for Mental Illness Advocacy
Committee. Dr Arthur currently serves as Director of the Education
Committee for the Ohio Psychological Association Board of Directors.
